What's in a logo? For Cosmic Corner's logo, the answer is a lot!
Firstly, let me get a little nerdy. Did you know that "logo" comes from the Greek word "logos" (λόγος)? It can be found in the Bible where it refers to the imprint of God in form. It is that thing which is inseparable from the divine and the mundane, the core "thing" that all of existence is made of! "In the beginning was the Word (Logos), and the Word (Logos) was with God, and the Word (Logos) was God." is the exact quote from the book of John.
So a logo is the symbol by which a concept can be known or discussed. A logo is way more than just a brand, it's actually a spell!
Our logo, Geff the Cosmic Eye, represents the Trinity of Body, Mind, and Spirit (or any other trinity model you fancy...there are a lot of them), but it's also in the shape a lotus. The lotus is known for those clean, white petals that pop out of the mud. Thich Nat Han wrote a lovely book called "No Mud, No Lotus" (that we usually have in stock, but not right now so I can't link it, oops!) that explains how the struggle through the dirt and mud is necessary for the lotus.
We also like to conceptualize the Chakras, the energy centers talked about in the Vedas (which are often cited works in Yoga and Tantric teachings), as lotuses that bloom when we attend to those energetic centers well.
Within the lotus, you'll find several more hints to what Cosmic Corner is and does! We have leaves at the bottom to represent our herbs and teas, crystals forming the next set of lotus petals, and an eye in the center to represent our books, tarot, and oracle decks, as well as the spiritual readings and classes we provide!
