Properties In addition to the healing properties of obsidian, snowflake obsidian is said to provide balance for the body, mind, and spirit. Its a grounding and protective stone, and a good aid to have during meditation. The name comes from the snowflake-like white spots of cristobalite, a type of quartz, dotting the surface of the stone.
